  • The role of the school social worker is to address the social and emotional needs of students through individual and group counseling, coordination of school and community services, crisis intervention, consultation, conflict resolution and more. Services are provided to address a variety of student concerns including: coping with stress, family issues, grief/loss issues, peer related concerns, academic concerns, social issues, etc.

  • EDP Social WorkerHelp students function effectively in the school environment
  • Assess areas in which students may require assistance or counseling
  • Communicate with parents, teachers and administrators
  • Maintain accurate reports to track student issues and progress
  • Assist in remediation by providing treatment plans or counseling
  • Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process as necessary
