7th Grade Orientation & Meet the Teacher Night on July 31st

Please join us for 7th Grade Orientation and Meet the Teacher Night on July 31st.

The ​7th graders​ are invited to attend an orientation beginning at 4:00 pm in the gym. The orientation will take place from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. This event will allow for the ​7th graders​ to become more familiar with their school and to interact with their peers before classes begin Wednesday.

At 5:00 p.m., ​ALL students (7th and 8th grade)​ / parents / guardians meet in the gymnasium to pick up class schedules and address questions related to bus transportation, medical issues, and food service. Bus route information and free-and-reduced food service forms will be available. Yearbook orders will be taken. Fees may be paid (checks and cash only).

July 24th​ - 27​th​ – Bookstore Days

Bookstore Days allow families the opportunity to address responsibilities related to the start of the school year. Those responsibilities include picking up a rough draft copy of your child’s schedule, completing free-and-reduced food service form, and paying school fees (checks, cash or online).

Summer Job Fair

We will be holding a Summer Job Fair on Thursday, June 14th at Combs Traditional Academy Multipurpose Room. This event will focus on Special Education and Support staff vacancies and will be from 9:00 am until 12:00.

CMS Awards Assembly

CMS hosted their awards assemblies yesterday for Outstanding Students of the Year, Lady Cougar of the Year and Cougar of the Year for both 7th and 8th Grade students. Thank you to all of our staff and parents who helped make this event so awesome and to all of our recipients, Congratulations! Way to go Cougars!

Band, Orchestra and Choir News

Our Band Orchestra and Choir students had a trip to California over the weekend participating in many competitions. Below is the list of all their accomplishments:
Sweepstakes Winner! (Top Win)
(3) 1st place wins (Band, Jazz Band and Symphony)
(3) Gold Ratings (Jazz, Band, and Choir)
(4) trophies for top band (Jazz, Concert Band, Top Strings and Top Instrumental Program) Jazz and Concert tied for 1st Place
(3) Students received individual Excellence Awards. Only 8 were awarded in total.
